1. It is my proud privilege to assume the command of Assam Rifles, the ‘Sentinels of North East’ as the 27th Director General on 27 August 2012.

2. This elite Force has carved a niche for itself by displaying the highest level of professionalism and dedication during its 177 years of glorious history. I am confident that together we will not only continue to strive for excellence with elan and pride but also maintain the highest level of integrity, financial propriety and transparency in all our actions so as to uphold the highest traditions set painstakingly by our illustrious predecessors for the past so many years. I exhort all ranks to work in unison with diligence and dedication to fulfill the aspirations of the people of North East and achieve greater glory for the Elite Force.

3. I extend my warm greetings to the fraternity of Assam Rifles. I wish all ranks and their families good health, happiness and Godspeed.
